Music and a Meme

How about a ridiculously long post about NOTHING in order to offset yesterday's long post about SOMETHING?

TODAY'S NEWS: iTUNES IS AN IDIOT.

See, I’m supposed to be making a good workout playlist, or at least a playlist to feel FABULOUS to, so I started surfing around Youtube and the rest of the internets for good songs and such. And so I’m finding songs, downloading songs, putting them into the playlist, when suddenly I notice something stupid.

For one of the songs I downloaded, iTunes literally labeled the genre as “Gay”. Like, the playlist genres were listed as Pop, Dance, Electronic, and GAY.
Photobucket
Seriously. Seriously?

WOW, iTUNES, I DIDN’T KNOW “GAY” WAS A GENRE.

And the song wasn’t even gay! It was a girl singing about a guy. WHAT IS THIS I DON’T EVEN
Photobucket

And that’s not the only instance of idiocy. iTunes also refuses to acknowledge Lady Gaga as an “Artist”. Her music is technically THERE since you can find the songs individually under "songs", but iTunes won’t list her under “Artists”. The only way I can listen to her music is if I plug in my actual iPod. DA HELL IS UP WITH THAT.
Photobucket

And yet, I’ve come to the conclusion that iTunes DOESN’T hate Lady Gaga, because "Bad Romance" is its favorite song ever. See, every time I put her music on shuffle (through my iPod), Bad Romance is always, ALWAYS, the first one that gets played. And several times when my WHOLE library is on shuffle, iTunes will REPEAT Bad Romance. I didn’t even know songs COULD be repeated on shuffle. YOU SHAMELESS FANBOY, iTUNES, breaking your own rules. I APPROVE!
Photobucket

Anyway, I guess this isn’t anything new. We were already aware of iTunes’ astonishingly retarded tendencies.

What IS new is a meme. I haven’t done a meme in forever. FOREVER. So here’s a meme.

3 songs you love at the moment
This meme is smart to say "at the moment". I go through random music phases where I'll listen to like ONE BAND ONLY for a WEEK and then I go off on some crazy multi-genre spree and and IT'S ALL OVER THE PLACE. Right now, I guess "Dance The Way I Feel" by Ou Est Le Swimming Pool, "Good Old-Fashioned Lover Boy" by Queen, and "Radioactivity" by Kraftwerk are getting played a lot more than usual.

3 books you love
I always have to say Dostoevsky's "Notes From Underground", just because that was the first book I ever actually LOVED, because I would read it in my very noisy study hall as a way to kinda just tune everything out. It became a kind of escape for me I guess, haha.

And even though I pretty much love anything by Chuck Palahniuk, "Fight Club" is probably my favorite (which I actually read before I saw the movie).

And I know it's kind of a weird book, but I really really loved "Let The Right One In". That is one of the only books that legitimately SCARED me, even though the book as a whole isn't necessarily scary. It's just that certain scenes were written so well that I was just like FHKGSJRTGJGJ
Photobucket

3 movies you love
AAAAAA I don't know I don't know. I'm not a huge movie person. I guess Gladiator, Inception and Star Trek (2009). There are probably a TON more that I'm just not thinking of, but these were the first three that came to mind.

3 celebrity crushes
Uhhh, my celebrity crushes are usually kind of obscure, but I guess I'll start with Kiera Knightley, since she's the obligatory girl-crush, and probably the only person anyone will actually recognize:

I think it's the eyebrows. She's got hella eyebrows.

And now we're heading into obscure-territory with Stéphane Lambiel:

He's a figure skater from Switzerland. That's why you don't know who he is! But he's not ENTIRELY unknown, since he was in the 2008 Winter Olymics (he got to carry Switzerland's flag in during the ceremony, so you KNOW he's serious business).

And yes, he IS the one in my favorite dancing gif:
Photobucket

Finally, probably the MOST obscure is Francisco Lachowski:

He's a MALE MODEL. From BRAZIL. But he's actually all over the place. A few times I've recognized him on clothing advertisements and I'm just like
Photobucket

ANYWAY, TOO MANY BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE ON MY BLOG, NOT GOOD FOR YOUR HEALTH, I STOP NOW.

How about some electronic dance. Like any good dance song, you've gotta give it time to build:

And ok, I was supposed to make this an INTERESTING post but I got distracted and now I don't care anymore! But tomorrow is Monday, so maybe I'll have more to talk about then. For now, I'm going to go cry about Trigonometry for a few more hours and then go to bed.

I'M GONE.

College and Careers

I'll warn you, this is a post entirely about boring stuff like college and what I want to do after school. Probably not many LOLs to be had, sorry.

This all started because Ruby is taking the SAT today (good luck!). I almost signed up for it this year, but I already took the ACT, and I'm too lazy to take another standardized test. That says wonders about my level of academic motivation... No, no, it's just that I'm ok with what I got on the ACT, and even though I SHOULD take the SAT anyway because it's the smart thing to do, I'm, um, too lazy.

I'M GONNA DO AWESOME IN COLLEGE.

Which, while we're on the subject, I've been randomly thinking about a lot lately. I still don't know what I want to major in. I'm pretty sure I know which FIELD I want to go into, but that's about as far as I've gotten. I'm torn between just doing general Biology, or going into something more specific like Cellular Biology and Histology, or Medical Microbiology and Bacteriology. Right now, the latter is looking reeeeeaaally appealing.

I know I want to do something in research. It's a really smart decision, too, because it's really in demand right now, and is expected to be even MORE in demand by the time I graduate. Plus, a Biological Researcher can earn a median salary from 70-80,000, and the top percent can be making six-figure salaries.

SIX FIGURES. ESPECIALLY IN PENNSYLVANIA for some reason. And I have ALWAYS wanted to live in Pennsylvania.
Photobucket

Of course, the majority of people who get hired for these kinds of jobs have a PhD. So that would take about 8-12 years of schooling.
Photobucket

It's not really time I concerned about, it's just the money. We'll just have to see how things go!

I think May 1st is the deadline for applying to the University of Arizona, which is most likely where I'll be going to college. I've filled out everything EXCEPT the essay portion, which is a bit ironic, since writing essays has always been one of my strong points.

Or maybe it's not ironic. I might be struggling with it BECAUSE I've always done a good job on essays. And especially when I'm writing about MYSELF, nothing ever seems to meet my standards. I'LL GET IT DONE, but I have to do it my way.
Photobucket

And anyway, the most important thing they look at above EVEYRTHING else is the caliber of classes you took in high school. I've taken a WIDE variety of classes from Mock Trial to Sculpture, and have 5 AP classes and two college classes under my belt. I really don't think I have any reason to worry.
Photobucket

...I'M SO SORRY WOW this has been a boring post. Maybe later today I'll try to find something entertaining to post. Wow.

FRIIIIIDDAAAYYYYY

Ok, I'm way too lazy to try and remember all of what I was going to post tomorrow, so I'm not even gonna bother. It was mostly just rambling anyway. Take my word for it, it wasn't a GOLD post or anything.

Today's post isn't gold either. THIS SHIT IS PLATINUM.

Because we took our test in Government last class, TODAY we got to just chill and watch a powerpoint on the bureaucracy/federal budget. We didn't even have to take notes, so the whole time in class I was just sitting there munching on Poptarts staring at the whiteboard like
Photobucket

Then we did a group activity looking up the different agencies and whatnot. Most people make a big deal about group work and have to FREAK OUT over grouping up with their bff, but when Ruby and I group up we're just like
Photobucket
UNSPOKEN AGREEMENT

I feel like I haven't seen her in forever, because I leave early every other day, and the days I DON'T leave, she has club meetings. We only see each other in class now :C But she's going on the Spain trip too, so we'll be able to hang out on spring break...IN SPAIN.

So after Government, I had to go to study hall, which meant I had to give my presentation FOR REAL this time. I get to class and the teacher was like YOU'RE GOING FIRST IMMEDIATELY.

And at first I was like
Photobucket

But then I was all HELL WHATEVER I'M TOO AWESOME FOR THIS TO BE A BIG DEAL so I just prance up to the podium like
Photobucket

Gave my presentation LIKE A BOSS, and even though I went a little faster than I did in my practice runs, I still met the time mark by like 20 SECONDS. I go back to my seat, and the teacher hands me my score.

I GOT A HUNDRED FREAKIN PERCENT. I even got a little note that said "OUTSTANDING PRESENTATION" on it. Yes, yes, I am a winner.
Photobucket

So once again I go to Trig in a GOOD STATE OF MIND. Except I had to pee. See, after my presentation, I downed like a WHOLE BOTTLE OF WATER in relief, and I was now feeling the consequences. On top of that, we were also having a quiz today. And like all math quizzes, I could study for five hours straight and still not feel comfortable.

So the teacher walks in and says we're going to have a SUPER INTENSIVE DAY and we'll be working non-stop.

Now, this is both good and bad. It's good because this means we might run out of time for the quiz. It's bad because I'm ABOUT TO PISS MY FREAKIN PANTS, and since we're not allowed to leave during lectures, I might have to end up holding my bladder for over an hour.

I was SO TORN the whole lecture, because I really didn't want to take the quiz, but I also REALLY had to pee. I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT TO DO and the whole time I was like
Photobucket

The lecture went on. And on. AND ON. And I held my bladder like a trooper. The whole lesson, I don't even know what it was, something about "simple harmonic motion"? THERE AINT NOTHING SIMPLE ABOUT IT, the whole time I was just staring at the board like
Photobucket

And every time we had to try a problem out of the book I would just punch shit into my calculator like
Photobucket

By the time 12:45 rolled around (10 minutes left of class), the teacher said we wouldn't have time to take the quiz, and on the inside I was like YEEEEEEEEEEAAAAHHHH NO QUIZ AND I GET TO PEE SOON.

When the bell rang, I LITERALLY RAN to the bathroom. People thought I was just excited to get out of class, BITCH YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND I HAVE TO PEE RIGHT NOW.

Took care of my bladder, then I GALLOPED to my car cause I was so damn happy.
Photobucket

So now I'm home and it's Friday and I've got ALL THE TIME IN THE WORLD to do whatever I want.

AND I'M GONNA. But first, remember this song?:

How OLD was I when this came out? I was like TWELVE or something holy shit. If I ever make a ~FABULOUS~ playlist, this is probably the kind of stuff I'd put on it.

...Yeah, I'm gonna end on that note.

Space Filler Sadness

M-...

MY ENTIRE POST JUST DIED. I had just typed a hella long post and and and

THE INTERNET DIED, killing my post WITH IT.

So you get nothing today. I'll salvage what I can from the drafts tomorrow, and just post it all then, plus tomorrow's blog.

Thus, for now, you get this space filler. AND, I guess you can have this gif, too, since I am never, ever going to find an appropriate use for it.

Idiot Luck

Sometimes I forget just how often I use capslock. Sorry if it feels like I'm YELLING AT YOU IN MY MAN VOICE all the time. But that's not a promise to stop, I'm just acknowledging the fact that it may cause you distress.

I WILL NEVER STOP YELLING IN MY MAN VOICE.

Photobucket

AND SO. Today was certainly...interesting. I knew we had a test in AP Gov, but I thought it was just multiple choice. I GUESS I MISSED THE MEMO but we also had to do a free-response essay. Which is FINE I just wasn't expecting it at all, so when the teacher announced that we were starting the essay portion I was like DA HELL, looking around all frantic

Photobucket

But everyone else was all like

Photobucket

I feel like I did an...adequate job. Which is to say, I didn't FAIL, but I don't think my work was particularly praiseworthy either. I WAS TIRED and I was too focused on my SEP presentation anyway, which was due my next class.

So I get to my study hall, settle into my seat, and suddenly I realize WAIT HANG ON A SECOND HOW THE HELL AM I SUPPOSED TO PRESENT. Because I'd FORGOTTEN MY JUMP-DRIVE that had the presentation on it. Soooo, I kept waiting for the teacher to get to class, nervous as hell, and finally the teacher walks in and I'm like

Photobucket

But then I realize it's NOT my teacher, it's a SUBSTITUTE teacher which means I DIDN'T HAVE TO PRESENT ANYWAY.

Photobucket

I will never, ever understand my bizarre luck. This kind of stuff happens all the time. I'm running late for school and OH HEY I hit every single green light EVER. It's like I get rewarded for being an idiot.

SO I went on to Trig on a happy and relieved note FOR ONCE. Though, I feel like the class is becoming less and less "Trigonometry" and instead becoming more and more "Foreign Language". I catch "words" here and there, but I can't put sentences together for CRAP. But today I was like MAN WHATEVER I DON'T EVEN CARE because I am an idiot, and the fact that I have still somehow managed to survive this long is MAYBE A MIRACLE.

SO I AM NOTHING BUT THANKFUL FOR MY IDIOCY. And anyway, I'll just ask the internet about it later, so. WHO NEEDS A TUTOR, I'VE GOT YOUTUBE.

Photobucket

Then the bell rings, I hop up, and I'm walking down the hall to exit the building. Cool, nothing out of the ordinary. But then this kid comes running down the hall--on crutches. He's straight up RUNNING on CRUTCHES. So, keeping my poker face on, I kept going, but then all of a sudden this OTHER guy runs up to the crutches kid and straight up PUSHES HIM OVER. Like...STRAIGHT UP:

Photobucket

And I was just like HOLY SHIT WHAT THE HELL THE GUY'S A CRIPPLE DUDE THAT'S JUST--NO YOU CROSSED THE LINE WHY AM I LAUGHING THIS SHOULDN'T BE FUNNY.

Photobucket

All with my poker face still on, by the way. But it turns out the cripple kid wasn't even crippled, he was just playing with crutches, and the guy who pushed him over was his friend. BUT STILL dude, without knowing what the hell was going on, that was like the most bizarre thing I've ever seen, maybe.

Also, I think I'm ditching school tomorrow. But it's for a doctor's appointment, so it's not really DITCHING since I would have had to miss two out of three classes anyway. Also, it was my dad's idea for me to just skip school altogether, so, totally not my fault.

And now, this is fantastic:

INSTA-GHETTO.

You always see those bumper stickers like "I can go from normal to bitch in 5 seconds", but this guy can go from respectable to STRAIGHT UP GHETTO in 3.

So, right, expect an astonishingly lackluster post tomorrow, since I'll be doing absolutely nothing all day. I'M OUT.

Procrastination Is Something I HAVE To Do

I've got my first practice SEP presentation due tomorrow
Photobucket

Not that it's a particularly DIFFICULT presentation, I just...haven't DONE anything for it yet. I think every single powerpoint I've ever put together has been done the day before it was due. I TRY TO PLAN AHEAD, I really do, but, yknow, life, or something, it all just gets in the way, doesn't it? Procrastination, it must be in my GENES or something because no matter what steps I take to prevent it, it just never seems to do any good.

I EVEN PROCRASTINATE PROCRASTINATING.

Also, Trig tomorrow. I feel so out of place in that class uuuuggh. Especially this semester, since I didn't even test into this level (I only tested into 151, this is 182). Everyone else has at least taken Pre-Cal, but last semester's College Algebra was the highest level math I've ever done. Some days I get to class and it seems like everyone else is like YEAAAHH THIS IS AWESOME MATH IS SO EASY

...and I'm just like WAIT WHAT, DA HELL IS DIS SHIT, WHAT AM I EVEN DOING HERE, I AM SO LOST
Photobucket

I don't even have my cheat book this time. THAT MEANS I ACTUALLY HAVE TO KNOW WHAT WE'RE DOING, WHEN WE DO IT. And that's just absurd.

Although, on the 26th next week, I have a half-day! And for once, that half-day coincides with my already-short day! That means I get out of school at 10 AM.

10 AM. What the hell am I supposed to DO for the rest of the day--YKNOW WHAT IT DOESN'T EVEN MATTER, I can do whatever the hell I WANT. Hell, on the weekends I don't even wake UP before 10, so it's gonna feel like a weekend-day and and and and YEEEEEAAH
Photobucket

But that's next week. Still gotta get through the rest of this week.
Photobucket

WHATEVER, I'LL GET OVER IT;;;

Here, have some dude on a skateboard wearing out-of-place clothing while unfitting music plays:

As it stands now, "skaters" do absolutely nothing for me. HOWEVER, if they started dressing like THIS, that would be a completely different story.

That's it, I've seriously gotta get this presentation done. I'M OUT.

STAIR-BLOGGING

I'M ON A STAIR-CLIMBER

Seriously guys I'm blogging while on a stair-climber. Typing is incredibly difficult and for some reason makes my butt-muscles hurt. What is this oh my god I DON'T EVEN
Photobucket

Ok yeah I've just decided I'm never stair-climbing while blogging ever again. How about I just blog a bit after every 100 calories. THAT'S A MUCH BETTER PLAN wow I cannot ABSOLUTELY CANNOT type and climb stairs at the same time. This is a valuable lesson I have learned and I hope you all remember it next time you think about stair-blogging. Which is a thing, by the way.

--AND SO, 100 CALORIES LATER--
EVERYTHING HURTS OH MY G ok actually it's not that bad but still, any excuse for melodrama. Which, by the way, why is it called MELOdrama? Wouldn't SPASTICdrama be more appropriate? Most people hardly feel MELLOW when being melodramatic.

I GOT NEW SHOES. And they fit. It's important to make note of that last bit, because too often to not be a conspiracy against me, my shoes don't fit. I keep mentioning every time I get new shoes/clothes/whatever, because I am slowly checking those things off of my list of stuff to get before the Spain trip.

Along with getting legit clothes, I practically live in those boxers I bought, too. I...I AM OFFICIALLY AN AT-HOME BUM. That's...that's fine. I can accept that. It was inevitable. In fact, I think I actually pull them off quite nicely.
Photobucket

...And I mean "pull them off" as in "I am fabulous", not as in "WHOOPS no pants".

OK, I have no appropriate segway here, so I'm just gonna say we're taking a bit of a detour. See, there's one aspect of my sense of humor that is not as widely understood as others. And that aspect is VIDEO GAME PHYSICS. Like, it's kind of EMBARRASING because I freakin PISS MY PANTS over wonky graphics and game glitches.

Thus, this video STRAIGHT UP MURDERED ME. It's a Grand Theft Auto mod that gets rid of FRICTION in cars. So basically:

SERIOUSLY I DON'T KNOW WHY IT MAKES ME LAUGH SO MUCH. I think my favorite part is like 1:22 where the taxi flies off into FRICKIN NOWHERE.

Ok ok now for the music. I usually don't like music videos, but this one's actually pretty nifty:

See, I went light on the gifs today so that my double-video post would be justified. I was very tempted to just post the retarded-car video and not even say anything, but like I admitted earlier, my sense of humor isn't always so easily understood.

WITH THAT, I LEAVE YOU. I have school tomorrow, which I DO NOT WANT, but I will deal with, because I am a badass, and badasses get shit DONE.
Photobucket
